Auditions on Tap for First BLT Production of the 2013 Season

Director Sam Estrada has announced upcoming auditions for roles in the comedy that will open the BLT new season, Larry Shue’s The Foreigner. This comedy has become a popular staple of American professional, amateur, and educational theater, with its silly fun and hilariously convoluted shenanigans.

Auditions will be Sunday & Monday, January 6 & 7, at 7:00 PM at the theater located at 4828 Hugh Echols Blvd. For more details, click here or contact director Estrada at

Tuna Does Vegas Helps BLT Celebrate

The traditional New Year’s Eve celebration offered by the Baytown Little Theater will be done in wild and hilarious Texas fashion, as Tuna, Texas, third smallest town in the state, returns to the Baytown community theater’s stage. Featuring performances by two of the BLT’s best known performers, Jim Wadzinski and Kim Martin, the play is the latest in the series of satiric comedies created by Texas legends Joe Sears, Jaston Williams, and Ed Howard. Sears and Williams have appeared for many years in the plays that feature well-known characters who populate the tiny West Texas town of Tuna.

Eighteen characters make their appearance in Tuna Does Vegas, from radio personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie, to Vera Carp and Aunt Pearl Burras. New characters appear courtesy of the visit to Las Vegas, including Anna Conda and two Elvis impersonators well past their prime. All characters are played by Martin and Wadzinski, who are supported and hurried back onstage by director Sylvia Wadzinski, assistant director Fred White, stage manager Beth Darby, and Tammy Calloway, Robin McDougal, Mary Lou Martin, and Koni Hovater. Megan Thomas and Mary Price provide special costume construction support. Tickets for all performances are going fast, so click here to get tickets before they are all gone.

Come out for Christmas on Texas Avenue

Are you ready to help your friends and neighbors get in the holiday spirit? Come join us this Saturday, December 8, at Christmas on Texas Avenue as we offer some entertainment at what is fast becoming one of the most enjoyable community events all year.

The Baytown Little Theater, as a future neighbor in the historic Downtown District, will have a booth on Texas Avenue to say “Hello, and Merry Christmas!” and let everyone know about our New Year’s Eve production of Tuna Does Vegas and the 2013 Season, which begins in February with our production of the Larry Shue comedy The Foreigner.

We will also be taking the stage in front of the old Brunson Theater from 3:00 to 3:30 to provide some entertainment in the holiday spirit. We need members to join us and add their voices to some holiday music. Just show up at the BLT booth about 2:30, and we’ll have music for you. Dress in whatever clothes or colors of the season that you have, and come help us bring the fun and spirit of the season to our community.”
