MUSTANG MARTHA: The Screenplay Experience — A Night of Baytown Storytelling!
Do you remember the legendary “Purple Planter” that turned heads in 1994? That unforgettable hot-pink Mustang filled with flowers, sitting proudly in front of Baytown Motors (now Frank’s Collision) started as a quirky promo for a local auto body shop but quickly became a symbol of artistic rebellion when the City cited it as a violation of the Junk Car Ordinance. But Martha Barnett—one of the only female body shop owners at the time—stood her ground and fought back.
Now, her incredible story is being brought to life in MUSTANG MARTHA, a fictionalized film inspired by true events that happened right here in Baytown. And we want YOU to be part of it!
Join us for Mustang Martha: The Screenplay Experience, a one-night-only staged reading of the award-winning screenplay, performed in partnership with Baytown Little Theater and featuring local actors from the BLT community. This is your chance to hear the story straight from the page, experience the laughs, heart, and hometown pride—and give your feedback directly to the filmmakers!
