SUMMARY:Radium Girls
DESCRIPTION:  \nAll Performance Dates:\nMay 16 & 17 – 8:00 pm\nMay 18 – 2:30 pm\nMay 23 & 24 – 8:00 pm\nMay 25 – 2:30 pm\nMay 30 & 31 – 8:00 pm\nJune 1 – 2:30 pm \n\n\n\n\n\nBASED ON THE TRUE STORY OF THE DIAL PAINTERS WHO MADE LABOR HISTORY \nIn 1926\, radium was a miracle cure\, Madame Curie an international celebrity\, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInspired by a true story\, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer\, a dial painter\, as she fights for her day in court. Her chief adversary is her former employer\, Arthur Roeder\, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. \nAs the case goes on\, however\, Grace finds herself battling not just with the U.S. Radium Corporation\, but with her own family and friends\, who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire. Written with warmth and humor\, Radium Girls is a fast-moving\, highly theatrical ensemble piece for 9 to 10 actors\, who play more than 30 parts—friends\, co-workers\, lovers\, relatives\, attorneys\, scientists\, consumer advocates\, and myriad interested bystanders. \nCalled a “powerful” and “engrossing” drama by critics\, Radium Girls offers a wry\, unflinching look at the peculiarly American obsessions with health\, wealth\, and the commercialization of science. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDirected By: Joshua Figueroa \nBuy Tickets Now

SUMMARY:Mustang Martha Auditions for Script Reading
DESCRIPTION:Do you remember the “Purple Planter” over at Baytown Motors in 1994? It was a Mustang painted hot-pink/purple and planted with flowers all over to help promote the auto body shop that’s now Frank’s Collision on Main St. Only after people complained\, the city said it was a violation of the Junk Car Ordinance. Martha Barnett\, who owned Baytown Motors at the time and was one of the only female auto body shop owners in the country\, fought to keep the Mustang. And now\, with the blessing of Martha and others involved\, we’re making a movie about it! \nMUSTANG MARTHA is a fictionalized “inspired by true events” type film\, and we are partnering with Jenny Waldo to perform a staged reading of the script here at Baytown Little Theater on Saturday\, June 28th at 7pm. She is excited to connect with our historic theater and our members by casting all roles from our Baytown Little Theater community for this event. While we cannot guarantee that role in the eventual movie\, she wants to showcase the local talent as we bring awareness to this project. If you’re available\, please send us your videotaped audition. \nWe are telling a Baytown story\, and we want Baytown involved. Last November\, we hosted a community awareness event at the Baytown Historical Museum when it was still called Martha’s Mustang. You can read more about it in the Baytown Sun article: https://baytownsun.com/local/martha-s-mustang-filmmaker-seeks-community-input-on-project/article_a8c7c448-a1f9-11ef-a275-1f627e72340e.html. Jenny and her team are Houston-based filmmakers with over 25 years of experience and look forward to working with you to highlight Baytown and this feel-good\, fun story. \nBelow is the scene to read for the recorded audition. Female actors read for Martha. Male actors read for Bobby. She does have a couple of male kid roles\, but they can simply read for Bobby too. \nPlease record your audition and email me a private link or WeTransfer (or other transfer platform) to purpleplanterproductions@gmail.com. \nAlso below are the Character Breakdowns that we are casting. There are about 20 good speaking roles and over 30 one-scene/one-liners! \nYou WILL NOT NEED to be off-book for the audition or for the staged reading. You will be walking around with the script in hand for simple entrances and exits. \nWe will have a rehearsal sometime in the week or two before the 28th. \nWe will be complying with the Baytown Little Theater protocol\, and all roles are volunteer-based. \nMore information as we move closer to the event. \nPLEASE SEND YOUR AUDITIONS to purpleplanterproductions@gmail.com. You can also email any questions you have. \nwww.jennywaldo.com \nFacebook and Instagram: MustangMarthaMovie \nCharacter Breakdowns \nAudition Side

When his mother’s passing sparks a journey of self-discovery\, Bob finds himself surrounded by an eccentric group of neighbors and friends who push him to embrace boldness in ways he never imagined. \nFrom Arne\, a military vet with no concept of personal boundaries\, to Thelma\, an aging ex-hippie still clinging to the ideals of the ’60s\, each character brings their own quirks and comedic flair. Throw in Monica\, the apartment building manager with her sights set on Bob\, Stafford\, the funeral director moonlighting as a taco truck operator\, and Danielle\, a woman with a heart of gold\, and you have a recipe for uproarious comedy. \nAs Bob grapples with his mother’s legacy and his own insecurities\, he embarks on a journey that will challenge his notions of love\, life\, and what it truly means to be bold. “The Bold And Bob” is a laugh-out-loud exploration of self-discovery\, community\, and the sometimes awkward\, always funny\, road to finding oneself. \nJoin us for an evening of laughter\, surprises\, and unforgettable characters in “The Bold And Bob”—a play that reminds us all that it’s never too late to take a chance and live boldly! \nDirected By: Ryan Laubach \nAuditions: Ended \nBuy Tickets Now

The play centers around Troy Maxson\, a former baseball star of the Negro Leagues\, who now works as a garbage collector. His unfulfilled dreams and the racial barriers that kept him from the Major Leagues have left Troy embittered\, and his simmering resentment impacts his relationships with those closest to him—his devoted wife Rose\, and his ambitious son Cory\, who aspires to follow in his father’s athletic footsteps. \nAs Troy struggles to reconcile his past with the harsh realities of his present\, he becomes increasingly entrenched in his beliefs\, creating a metaphorical fence that distances him from his family and the possibilities of the future. Through Troy’s journey\, Wilson masterfully delves into themes of generational conflict\, racial tension\, and the complexities of love and loyalty within a family. Fences is not just a story of one man’s fight against the world\, but a universal tale of the human spirit\, grappling with the fences we build in our own lives—those meant to keep things out\, and those meant to keep things in. This timeless drama resonates deeply\, inviting audiences to reflect on their own struggles\, dreams\, and the fences that define their lives. \nDirected By: Jim Wadzinski \nBuy Tickets Now

SUMMARY:Steel Magnolias
DESCRIPTION:All Performance Dates:\n*SPECIAL NEW YEAR’S EVE GALA – December 31st*\nOther Performances \nJanuary 2 & 3 & 4 – 8:00 pm\nJanuary 5 – 2:30 pm \nSet in the small town of Chinquapin\, Louisiana\, *Steel Magnolias* by Robert Harling is a poignant and heartwarming play that centers around six Southern women who gather regularly at Truvy’s beauty salon. Truvy\, the bubbly owner\, employs the shy and mysterious Annelle\, who is new to town and harboring secrets about her troubled marriage. The women—Truvy\, Annelle\, the wealthy and lovable curmudgeon Ouiser\, the cheerful Clairee\, the nurturing M’Lynn\, and her daughter Shelby—form a close-knit group that navigates life’s joys and heartaches together. \nThe play unfolds through a series of conversations and events at the salon\, touching on themes of friendship\, resilience\, and the bittersweet realities of life. Shelby\, a young woman with diabetes\, becomes the focal point of the story as she deals with health challenges and her desire to live life on her own terms. Despite warnings from her mother\, M’Lynn\, about the risks of pregnancy\, Shelby decides to have a child\, which leads to complications that ultimately put her life in danger. \nAs the seasons change\, so do the lives of the women\, who continue to support each other through humor\, love\, and shared experiences. The play is filled with laughter and tears\, capturing the strength and vulnerability of these women as they confront loss\, illness\, and the complexities of life. \nSteel Magnolias is a testament to the power of female friendship\, where the strength of the characters shines through\, much like the delicate yet resilient magnolia flower\, enduring the harshness of life with grace. \nDirected By: Sam Gorashko \nNew Year’s Eve Gala Performance – Buy Tickets Now \n1/2-1/5 Performance – Buy Tickets Now \nPRODUCED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GALVESTON LIGHTHOUSE PRODUCTIONS

SUMMARY:A Christmas Carol
DESCRIPTION:A Christmas Carol\nby Charles Dickens\nAdapted by Lavina Jadhwani \nAll Performance Dates:\nDecember 6 – 8:00 pm\nDecember 7 & 8 – 2:30 pm\nDecember 13 & 14 – 8:00 pm\nDecember 15 – 2:30 pm\nDecember 19\, 20 & 21 – 8:00 pm \nA miserly and miserable man\, Ebenezer Scrooge greets each Christmas with “Bah! Humbug!” until he is visited one Christmas Eve by the Ghosts of Christmas Past\, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. In Charles Dickens’ beloved classic\, the three spirits show Scrooge happy memories from his past\, difficult realities from the present and a grim future should he continue his closed-hearted ways.
