SUMMARY:Tale Of La Llorona
DESCRIPTION:A BLT Next Generation Youth Co. Teen Production\n(Spooky Season Edition)\nAll Performance Dates:\nOctober 18 & 19 – 8:00 pm\nOctober 20 – 2:30 pm\nOctober 25 & 26 – 8:00 pm\nOctober 27 – 2:30 pm \nSet on a stormy Halloween night\, “The Tale of La Llorona as Told by Consuelo Chavez” follows a group of six close-knit eighth graders—Consuelo\, Chuy\, Michael\, Lisa\, Angel\, and Taylor—who are disappointed when bad weather cancels their trick-or-treating plans. Stranded inside\, the friends find themselves reminiscing about past Halloweens and telling spooky stories to pass the time. As the night unfolds\, Consuelo\, the group’s nurturing leader\, shares the chilling tale of La Llorona\, a legendary figure from Mexican folklore who haunts rivers and lakes\, crying for the children she drowned. \nWhat begins as a playful evening quickly takes a darker turn as the line between reality and myth blurs. The friends find themselves questioning whether they are simply sharing ghost stories or if something more sinister is at play. As Consuelo’s storytelling grows more intense\, strange and eerie occurrences lead the group to wonder if La Llorona has truly come to visit them. \nThrough the suspense and scares\, the play delves into themes of friendship\, growing up\, and the fear of change. The friends face their uncertainties about the future and their worries about drifting apart as they prepare to enter high school. In the end\, the play offers a heartwarming message about the enduring power of friendship\, even in the face of fear and the unknown. \nThis suspenseful and emotionally charged play is perfect for middle schoolers and offers young performers the opportunity to explore rich characters and deliver a range of emotions\, from lighthearted fun to spine-tingling fear. The play provides a unique blend of cultural storytelling and the universal coming-of-age experience\, making it an engaging choice for both audiences and aspiring young actors. \nDirected By: Nohelia Cantu \nAuditions: September 6 & 7 \nBuy Tickets Now \nFootnote:\nPlease be advised that “The Tale of La Llorona as Told by Consuelo Chavez” contains elements of suspense and horror\, including discussions of ghost stories\, myths\, and themes related to death. These elements may be unsettling for younger or more sensitive viewers.

DESCRIPTION:All Performance Dates:\nAugust 16 & 17 – 8:00 pm\nAugust 18 – 2:30 pm\nAugust 23 & 24 – 8:00 pm\nAugust 25 – 2:30 pm \nLess than two weeks after the September 11th attacks\, New Yorkers are still in shock. \nOne of them\, an editor named Joan\, receives an unexpected phone call on behalf of Nick\, a fire captain who has lost most of his men in the attack. He’s looking for a writer to help him with the eulogies he must present at their memorial services. Nick and Joan spend a long afternoon together\, recalling the fallen men through recounting their virtues and their foibles\, and fashioning the stories into memorials of words. \nIn the process\, Nick and Joan discover the possibilities of friendship in each other and their shared love for the unconquerable spirit of the city. As they make their way through the emotional landscape of grief\, they draw on humor\, tango\, the appreciation of craft in all its forms—and the enduring bonds of common humanity. \nTHE GUYS is based on a true story. \nDirected By: Carrie McRay \nAuditions:  Ended

When smooth-talking con man Harold Hill arrives in a small\, tight-knit town in Iowa\, he expects to dupe its residents with his elaborate moneymaking scheme: Despite his complete lack of musical literacy\, he will convince everyone that he is a brilliant bandleader and recruit all the boys in town to form a band\, pocketing the cash for instruments and uniforms. The problem? Some of the town members\, especially the stern librarian\, Marian Paroo\, don’t quite buy Harold’s story. \nAs Harold struggles to keep his scheme afloat\, he also finds himself increasingly attached to the townspeople\, who have all experienced a positive change since Harold came to town.
